Vision

Vision is another public domain series from Germany released by an Atari magazine. The magazine ST Vision isn't widely known however, while the Vision PD disks were fully preserved. Unlike other series, ST Vision also put demos and English language software on their disks.

    Deluxe SlideShow is an attempt to combine all the currently popular ST graphics formats into one compact, but flexible slide show program. The program includes support for NeoChrome, DEGAS, DEGAS compressed, Tiny, and Spectrum format pictures. Any pic can be displayed on EITHER monitor (Spectrum pics can only be displayed on color systems). The color to hi-res monochrome conversions use a dithering algorithm to represent the varying color intensities. Mono to color uses gray-level approximation to closely simulate the different dot densities of a hi-res screen.

    Judy's Converter will convert Degas picture files to Atari 8 bit files that you can transfer over to your "old" Atari. Depending on the Degas picture resolution, files can be converted to graphics 8, graphics 9, or Antic mode "E" (graphics 7 1/2 - graphics 15).

    Kwik Pic is a no-frills accessory that shows Neo and (uncompressed) Degas pictures. On a monochrome system it will show hi-res pictures only. On a color monitor, it will adjust the resolution so that both low and medium pictures may be shown (Neo pictures aren't all low-res).
