STAC is a program for creating text adventures with graphics. It was developed by Sean Elis and is a further development of GAC (Graphic Adventure Creator). Unlike many other adventure engines, however, there were no alternative programs for playing the adventures - until now. The STAC Adventure Player is based on reverse engineering of the original player. Unlike the original, the Adventure Player runs smoothly under GEM and not just in the three ST resolutions. The program incorporates key elements of the Level 9 Interpreter’s user interface and supports a game’s custom font (which can be disabled).
