    The object is to place 20 Diodes onto 20 terminals in the correct sequence. The BOMB has a pre-determined sequence which MUST be followed if you are to defuse it. This pre-determined sequence is revealed (bit by bit) as a series of coloured lines pairing two terminals and appear every time you position a diode.

    You control a ship at the base of the screen with the joystick, firing upwards at the swarm of 'insectoid' alien creatures hovering above. Your aim - to annihilate them all! The use of a variety of types of aircraft and the randomly generated scenarios make this a compelling game, but it is not easy to be successful until you've had plenty of practice.

    A donationware game from Dave Munsie - Use the joystick to move your gun around the screen and then fire at a variety of insects that are crawling all over the screen. There are lots of things to shoot at and therefore plenty to keep you occupied as you try to clear the entire level of nasty creepy-crawlies.

    An excellent Shareware game for one or two players. Each player controls a tank and must shoot their opponent until he or she loses power completely. Control of the tanks is by joystick. Scattered around the playing area are various tokens which appear from time to time. These can either be for good or bad, some improving your tank's capabilities, others weakening them or strengthening your opponent. A simple to use but equally addictive game.

    A role playing game played out on a grid. Contestants take turns to move their figures across the board trying to get as many men to the exit as possible. You begin with a number of soldiers under your command and can move each one only one square at a time. When all your men have had a turn it's over to the computer for your alien enemies to make their moves. Players can shoot and throw grenades as they attempt to avoid the aliens and reach the exit.

    A puzzle game which is a cross between a jigsaw and a sliding puzzle game, but with a time limit! Each picture is made up of sixteen blocks which drop from the top left corner of the grid and fall to the bottom. You must move the blocks, by picking them up with the mouse, so as to arrange them in the correct way to form the picture. An addictive game that is a lot more challenging than it first appears.
  • The Memory Game
    This is a game for younger players. It's a straightforward matching game where the player must uncover matching pairs of cards, using either the mouse, keyboard or a joystick. Play against the computer or another human opponent.

    This is a text adventure, but with a difference. Firstly the user is allowed to become either a male or female character within the game, and at the beginning you are not told what your task is to be! In fact you wake up in your shower after having had one of those nights about which you remember very little.     A good old fashioned shoot 'em up in the style of Space Invaders. Using the mouse, you control an upward shooting cannon which can be moved left and right across the bottom of the screen. Flying saucers move in waves above you, some dropping bombs down towards you. By manoeuvering left and right and firing your own missiles, you must clear all the saucers from each level. Things are quite easy to begin with, but the number and speed of the saucers increases with each level. A very addictive and simple to operate game that would be suitable for younger players. If run on an STE or TT, the blitter chip and DMA sound are used to enhance the game. Needs 1 Meg.

    A platforms and ladders game in which you have to collect all the beer glasses to progress to the next level. Your character is a Mario look-alike and you lose one of your three lives if you fall off the edge of a platform.
  • Dominizer
    Ten pairs of dominoes are jumbled up and laid face down. You must find the matching pairs in much the same way as in a match maker type game. The demo version only lets you compete against the computer, does not allow you to alter the preferences and resets your ST after each game.
  • Mario's Quest
    You move the little Mario character (yes, him again!) around the screen picking up keys as you go and trying to find the exit from each level.

    A very good chess simulator with a variety of functions available, including a piece editor, numerous skill levels and a hint feature for those moments when you need a little helping hand. Includes some good graphics and is fully mouse controlled. This is a modified version with several major bug fixes and new features. It is therefore in many ways just as good as v4. However, this implementation runs on mono monitors only.

    Nanjing is another game from the Play it again, GEM series. The aim of this old far-eastern game is to place 72 stones, which differ by pattern and/or colour, on a 12x8 square. Certain rules have to be followed, which makes solving the task quite tricky.

    Move your mine-sweeping ball around the screen (be careful, it bounces if you move to fast!). As you pass over squares the number of mines in adjacent squares will be displayed. Watch you don't step on a mine or you'll lose one of your three lives. Uncover all the mines and enter the number of mines at the top right. If correct, you progress to the next more challenging level. Each level is laid out differently from the last and some have hidden entrances leading to off-screen areas! Well over 20 levels to complete.

    Perhaps the best ever implementation of Patience on the Atari. It basically follows the normal rules of the traditional card game but has three skill levels. It is possible for you to design your own cards and use your own (HSN format) sound samples. On machines with DMA sound, the supplied sounds add to the atmosphere. On an STFM, you can get the same effects if you have Petra and Paula installed.

    This quiz-game is based on the concept of JEOPARDY. At the beginning five themes and five answers and questions for each theme are chosen. The number written in the buttons shows the score-value of the answer. If you chose one button, the answer is drawn on the screen. Then you can choose if you know the question to the answer (click [Yes]) or not (select [No]). If you have chosen [Yes], you get five possible questions. If you choose the right one, the shown value will be added to your score, else your score will loose the value of the question.

The program itself is easy to operate, just use the mouse to click on your chosen answer, but be careful, wrong answers put you right back at the beginning again. The aim of the game being to get as many consecutive correct answers as possible. Good use is made of sampled sound and the voices of the main characters are used to great effect within the program.     A 3-D maze game, the aim of which is to find your way to the exit, but as all the walls look the same, this is no easy task. Use the mouse to click on a direction arrow, then follow the path to the next intersection. The atmospheric music adds a rather mysterious quality to the whole game.

    Counter atak is a little different, instead of getting coloured tiles lined up next to each other, you have to make sure (depending which level is choosen) the tiles, or in this case liquid counters, are not next to each other. This adds that extra bit of thought to the game.

    Move your mine-sweeping ball around the screen (be careful, it bounces if you move to fast!). As you pass over squares the number of mines in adjacent squares will be displayed. Watch you don't step on a mine or you'll lose one of your three lives. Uncover all the mines and enter the number of mines at the top right. If correct, you progress to the next more challenging level. Each level is laid out differently from the last and some have hidden entrances leading to off-screen areas! Well over 20 levels to complete.

    An excellent Shareware puzzle game in which you must create molecular structure of varying complexities depending upon which of the 300 levels you are on. Atoms must be placed in the correct sequence and there are rules as to exactly which atoms go where. The structure can be rotated as required to achieve your task. The game is GEM based and very easy to pick up once you've played it a few times.

    Asteroidia is an arcade style game that involves little strategy but provides hours of fun. You are flying around in space trying to destroy all the asteroids that are heading toward your home planet. You'll also have to contend with little alien thingys that want to destroy your ship!

    A simulation of the well known game, featuring sampled sound and an understandable voice that calls out the numbers. As in real bingo, a number of game options are available, including, four corners and winning lines as well as full house.     A demo version of a very well put together platform game with great graphics and challenging gameplay. The idea of the game is to rescue some lost children, but a number of hazards stand in your way.
  • Graveyard
    An entertaining chance to blast everything that moves. Using your joystick, you control a spaceship and must destroy or avoid asteroids that are coming your way from every possible direction. You must shoot them to break them up, and finally, when you shoot the smallest ones, these release a blue crystal which needs to be collected to give power-ups.
  • Torus
    A sliding puzzle game but with added extras, like the ability to use PI1, PI2 or PI3 pictures. Once the picture has been jumbled the sections move in lines either horizontally or vertically, giving an extra challenge to the game. A number of pictures are supplied and you can of course use your own

  • Fleet Street Madness
    A fun game for budding newspaper tycoons. This very simple simulation could possibly be suitable for young children. The user chooses from a number of pre-set sentences in order to produce an edition of the Daily Stun. A game for two players, as they compete against each other to produce the funniest headlines.
  • Hot Wheels
    Hot Wheels is a fast action car racing game in which you take the wheel of a spanking new Ferrari 348. One player can practice a track on their own or race against two computer-controlled drones. Alternatively, two players can compete at the same time using a split-screen display (a la Super Cars 2). In two player mode one drone can be added to the race.
  • Queboid
    You must avoid numerous hazards and collect keys as you try to get to the lift to move from one level to the next using either the joystick or the cursor keys. You also have the option of leaving primed bombs in order to deflect your enemy. A fun game with plenty to keep you occupied. 
  • Seawolf - A Project Gone Wrong
    Another shoot 'em up from the Arcade King. You must destroy a variety of ships and aircraft in order to amass an impressive score before excessive damage to your ship ends the game. Graphics not up to Dave's usual standard but gameplay is fast and compelling.

  • Starfleets of the Triad
    A Space strategy game for one or two players. You must destroy the enemy using the different types of starship at your disposal. Each type of craft has different strengths and abilities and so you must use your knowledge to outsmart your opponents. Not a shoot 'em up, although the game contains some shooting. More a game for the strategists.
  • A Simple Memory Game
    A simple memory game by Howard Clarke. The game begins with a grid containing some hidden numbers, your task is to uncover the numbers in chronological order, but only one number is revealed at a time. Easy at first but, as the number of squares in the grid increases, this really does test your memory. Would make an excellent game for children. For one to five players.
  • Starbox (game)
    This is a logic game for two players. Click on a square in a large grid to reveal the symbol beneath. Some symbols give points, others end your turn, but the majority give clues to the position of other point-giving symbols. Your aim is to amass more points than your opponent.
